IO: localhost will be free and open source

IO: localhost will be the first public release from Augmented Arthur: Applications—and it will be free and open source.

The decision is partly practical and partly about trust. IO controls local development servers, but it does not need an account, an AAA backend, or an AI service. Publishing the code lets people inspect that promise instead of merely reading it on a product page.

The release will include a signed and Apple-notarized Mac build, a public GitHub repository, an explicit license, installation and troubleshooting documentation, a support boundary, and a security-reporting route. Bug reports will be welcome. Individual setup support and response-time guarantees will not be included; free software should arrive with clear expectations as well as good intentions.

Arthur designed the product and its constraints; AI accelerated the implementation. The remaining work is release work: repository cleanup, documentation, signing, notarization, and a clean installation test on another Mac. Once those gates pass, IO: localhost moves from The Workbench to The Window.
