Speaking is sometimes easier than knowing where to start. One Knot is an iPhone app in development for turning a tangled stream of thoughts into a clearer picture and one manageable next action. Augmented Arthur: Applications will publish the app.
The moment it is being built for
You have a project to move forward, but the practical work is mixed with ideas, unanswered questions, commitments, and worries. Even making a useful task list takes more clarity than you have available.
One Knot starts there. You can speak or type without preparing a tidy explanation. The app uses AI to reflect structure back to you, so you can inspect it, correct it, and work toward a next step.
People with ADHD are central to the product’s design. Its intended audience also includes artists, freelancers, project leads, project managers, and anyone who often carries more thoughts than they can comfortably sort at once. Different people need different kinds of support; testing those differences is part of the work ahead.
What is on the bench
The current prototype brings together voice and text capture, thought sorting, and lightweight project planning. It separates actionable items from thoughts that can wait and offers an immediate next action.
Focus view gives that action a clear place. Plan view preserves the complete sequence, so concentrating on one step does not mean losing sight of the rest. A step that still feels too large can be broken into smaller actions.
Saved conversations let you return to continuing work. After completing a step, you can report what happened; the app can then reconsider the remaining plan and explain material changes. These capabilities have initial implementations for testing. They are still being refined.
The design boundary
One Knot should help someone reach enough clarity to leave and act. A useful session has an ending. Continuing projects need a way back in, without creating another pile of unfinished work to manage.
It is a planning and thought-organization tool. It does not diagnose or treat ADHD, and it should leave room for the user to disagree with its interpretation or proposed plan.
AI is part of the app’s functionality. The prototype uses a backend and external AI services to process submitted content; it is not an entirely on-device tool. Saved conversations are held locally in the current prototype. Clear retention choices and verified provider data handling remain part of the work required before wider testing.
Current state and what comes next
One Knot is an integrated prototype in development, with broader user validation ahead. The work includes refining the voice experience, checking whether the proposed steps are useful in real situations, and preparing understandable privacy controls for beta testing. A public beta will be announced when it is ready.
